The agreement on visa elimination was achieved after the issue was heightened by Azerbaijan's Embassy in Vietnam.
Azerbaijani citizens always encountered many difficulties in getting Vietnam's visa, because Vietnam does not have an embassy in Azerbaijan.
According to the new policies, Azerbaijani citizens only need to offer the recommended documents given by the Vietnamese travel agencies regarding their journey so that they can attain a visa.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam Anar Imanov met Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in October.
Mr Dung acclaimed the recent opening of Azerbaijan's embassy in Vietnam as a significant event in regards to bilateral connections, and indicated interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan.
According to Imanov, the organization of the embassy presented the high level of Azerbaijan's interest in relations with Vietnam.
He also noted that the friendly relations between the two countries had a long history, and now there was a great opportunities for the development of bilateral relations.
Imanov also underlined the relevance of opening Vietnam's Embassy in Azerbaijan for the further development of relations between the two countries.
Dung said that the probability of opening Vietnam's Embassy in Azerbaijan was being regarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
Vietnam recognized Azerbaijan's independence on December 27, 1991, and the two countries set up diplomatic relations on September 23, 1992. Vietnam - Azerbaijan relations have been brotherly and traditional.
Collaboration between the two countries is guaranteeing in the energy, agricultural, and tourism fields.
